This article is more of an ad. However, it gave us a good framework for what he wanted our coaching seminar to be like. The three stages it describes highlight the major points of what we want our coaches to take away from our seminar. It is a great reference for us and helped us better the reconstruction of our basketball league.

This is a useful source for anyone needing a basis to formulate the structure of any sports league off of. It provides a standard for the detail needed to be met within the description of the structure of the league. This source gave us a jump-off point to initiate the formulation of our league’s structure.

In this source it explains drills that will help improve basketball skills. These drills require usage of both hands in certain drills at one time or the ability to crossover to the other hand effectively and not losing the ball. Not only doe sit help with just basic ball handling control but also some of the drills are to try and improve the speed and the ability to change directions with the ball. Mark explains his drills thoroughly to help explain how to maneuver each one and gives a drill for each possible skill one could need to improve through dribbling.

In this article that discusses some of the life skills that one should obtain through playing basketball. It goes in detail about teamwork, multi-tasking, goal setting, and healthy habits. Through the reconstruction of the basketball league, we hope to teach youth about these key life skills that will not only help them in the game but also throughout life. I felt this article by Miss. Moore did a great job of explaining each in a practical way.

This source is a website dedicated to the purpose of creating reference material for anyone affiliated with high school basketball. It tracks current rule and regulation changes as well as high school records, news, and additional resources. This source was more of a broad tool that provided an example of what the big picture of our league should look like. It also gave additional links to other useful material, which made it very useful.

We used this book to provide evidence as to what children are interested in and why they play sports. This information helped us come up with a basketball program that children look forward to coming to. We also used this source to show the importance of having coaches training sessions to ensure that the child athletes are provided with a safe environment and coaches that are trained volunteers.

In this abstract article its about a study the relationship between exercise intensity and performance in drills and how proficient the basketball players can be. The study used 11 top athletes in basketball at age 17-18 and underwent tests of game related technical/ tactical exercises. The results concluded that the participants showed a decrease in proficiency in tactical decisions, as the exercise became more physically demanding. This evidence shows support for a need to always improve basketball skills and scenarios. Our league will help develop these skills to help decrease this relationship in the future.
